Thank you to all the families who joined us during Summer 2021!
What another fabulous summer in beautiful Freeman Gardens! From nature journals to improv theatre games to private music lessons to painting with found objects to counting creatures in the Second River to making puppets and then bringing them to life with character voices… Glen Ridge Summer Arts Academy brought us together for three weeks full of exploration in Visual Art, Eco-Science, Theatre and Music.
We couldn’t have done it without our teachers – Evan and Oliver (Visual Art); Brooke, Steve and Brian (Theatre); Steve, Dan, Mike and Zoe (Music); Kristy (Eco-Science); and Will (our summer intern) AND all of our amazing students!!!
A huge thank you to Kevin Sherry and Freeman Gardens for providing such an inspirational space. Next summer we hope to continue to combine beautiful outdoor spaces like Freeman Gardens and the Second River Glen with our home at Glen Ridge High School for another successful summer. Please check back for registration information in early Spring 2022.
Please join us next summer to Make Art and Explore Nature Together.
“Our son had a great time. He took a sketching class and the comics class. He learnt new skills and techniques, and really enjoyed taking classes with his friends.”

We are so excited this program is back this year! Our daughter enjoys the art and music workshops and learns so much each year. The program is well organized and well run, and having it at Freeman Gardens is an added bonus. The beauty and serenity of the gardens is very conducive to artistic development and inspiration. We highly recommend this program.
