Calling all young explorers and budding naturalists! Join us on a journey as we discover the natural world that exists within and around Freeman Gardens. Students will have the opportunity to observe, explore and learn about their local environment and gain a sense of connection to the natural world that surrounds them. Throughout the week, students will learn what it means to be a naturalist by studying local flora and fauna, learning about the ecosystems these organisms inhabit, and how to protect and preserve these special places.

Come along on a weeklong adventure as we explore, learn, and investigate the ecology of Glen Ridge. Students will dive into the world of an environmental scientist by studying local plants and wildlife, collecting data, and documenting observations and experiences. Students will have the chance to operate tools and equipment used by real scientists to conduct field experiments and use the data they collect to contribute to a variety of citizen science projects.
